Missi Salzberg (also known as Maggie for you non-Village Groomer folks) began
working at The Village Groomer in 1969 at the age of four. She specialized in ringing
the old crank register and completely confusing the shop books! Missi returned to the
family business in 1994 when her father became ill. She has run the business full time
since then, and delights in the personalities of all of the four legged friends that visit.

A fascination for Missi is species-appropriate diets and she uses this knowledge to
help her canine and feline friends achieve optimal health. She networks with vets and
alternative practitioners to minimize the use of drugs in the treatment of allergies and
other ailments.

Missi teaches motivational seminars and small business educational programs. She
serves as a consultant to Oster Professional Products and PetEdge. She is a
columnist for Grooming Business Magazine and was nominated for the Cardinal
Crystal Achievement Award for Outstanding Journalist of the Year in both 1999 and
2000. She was named Journalist of The Year in 2008.  She has written for Fancy
Publications, Pet Business News, and Barkleigh's Groomer to Groomer. Missi hosts
Cardinal's Crystal Achievement Awards each year, and serves as emcee to the
NEPGP fall festival.  She shares her home with her partner Tracy, and more 4
leggeds and winged ones than we can fir into this space.  She is pictured here with
one of the greatest loves of her life, Nani the Poodle.

Anne Francis has been grooming since 1996. She is our grooming
Manager and has been working with us to run our business for over 13
years. She is the proud mother of Phoebe, a Toy Poodle, Alex , a Bichon
Frise, Angus, a Kerry Blue Terrier,Popo the Wonderpug, Max the Pug and
Jasper the Chinese Crested. She also has two crazy cats, Little G and Roni.
Anne began volunteering at her local animal shelter when she was 14, and
knew she wanted to spend her career surrounded by animals.

She is an artist. Truly an artist. Anne enjoys the competitive side of
grooming. She has competed many times and medaled and ribboned
repeatedly. She won the Gold Medal at The New England Pet Grooming
Professionals with our late, beloved Mookie, poodle extraordinaire. She
serves on the board of the New England Pet Grooming Professionals, and
continues to keep our shop moving forward with new ideas, current breed
standards, and an amazing eye. She co owns
Dog Daze Day Camp with Missi,
located right next door to The Village Groomer & Pet Supply.
Kathy Duffus, NCMG  has been with us since 2000 and has over
25 years of grooming experience. A National Certified Master
Groomer and Cocker Spaniel breeder, she has also worked as a
veterinary technician.  On June 9, 2001 Kathy finished her first
Champion Cocker Spaniel, Joey.  Her kennel name is Katsina, a
Native American term which means "Keeper of the Animals," a very
fitting description for this kind and talented animal care
professional.  She shares her home with husband Al and  her two
White Shepard's Chopper and Bella and her new baby Cocker,
Dakota.  She also recently opened up her home to Fooloo, a rescue
bird from our neighbors at The Bird and Reptile Connection.  We are
happy to report that her son Alex is home safe and sound from his
service in the military!
Mike Sullivan is the tireless and energetic force in the bathing
area of the grooming room. He has been with the Village Groomer
for three years and is instrumental in keeping the flow of the
bathing area at a phenomenal pace.   Mike has been working more
and more with Missi is the front room the past year and many of
you think he is my son.  Well, if I had a son, I could not ask for any
better  than Mike.  He is kind and conscientious and very dedicated.
His knowledge of food and pet wellness grows every day and he is
constantly taking on new responsibilities.  He shares his home with
his sweetheart Gina and their beautiful daughter Jada!
Linda Johnson has been Grooming at the Village Groomer for over
5 years. She does amazing work on Golden Retrievers, Cattle Dogs,
Saint Bernard's and even can talk the snappiest Maltese puppy into
staying quiet on her table. Linda has mastered all of the breeds she
grooms and has a very loyal following .  She shares her home with
Zeke & Rose, Australian Cattle Dogs, Sebastian,  a White Shepard and
three cats, Caspar,  Dexter and Zoey.  She also shares her pad with
Floyd the goldfish and Bella the Dove.  Linda also serves as our staff
trainer, offering obedience programs at our sister store,
Dog Daze Day Camp.
Melissa Deeter has been with the Village Groomer for a few years
now.  It is wonderful to see her work on even the fussiest of Shih
tzu's, Shetland Sheepdogs and Yorkshire Terriers.  We notice her
attention to detail on the faces of all the dogs she groomers. She
shares her home with Ginger a Wheaten Cross and Mr. Miyagi, a
Chinese Crested, as well as Marvin, the permanently dieting cat.  I
think he lost a few pounds!  No, seriously.
Moe Flynn has been working with us for 6 years, first as a full-time
groomer, and over the last few years as she completed her degree,
as a part time groomer and assistant to Annie.  No one is more
thorough than Moe, and her tenderness with the animals is just
amazing.  As she grows and continues her education, we look
forward to having her on our teams for many years to come, if we're
lucky!
Last, and certainly NOT least, our beloved Chris Iverson.  Chris is a
dear friend that is always on call to help us out and some of you may
recognize her from our day care center.  She helped us open Dog
Daze a few years ago and was integral in building the business from
the start.  She is the Dog Mother to Nani and shows English Cocker
Spaniels.
Cara Salzberg:  The Village Groomer, The Next Generation!  My
beautiful niece Cara, pictured here with her boyfriend Dan on Prom
Night,  began working with us this year and you'll find her ringing
the register or out back on cat night playing with the kitties!  She is
definitely more of a cat person, but she loves all of the pets that
come through our doors and is amazed at their personalities.  She
continues the family tradition for a 3rd generation of Salzbergs at
The Village Groomer.  She is one of Ginger's best buddies.
